2000 the International Committee de Course
together with the International Federation
of Roller Sports decided to officially launch
the Inline Downhill World Championships,
an amazing speciality of the speed skating
discipline that is rapidly becoming a marvelous
sports spectacle.
The Inline Downhill consists
of a decent at maximum speed on a circuit
that generally is 2000m long. The athlete
that has the fastest time is declared the
winner.
The Austrian city of Uebersaxen
Rankweil will host the 9th consecutive edition
of this event from 18th to 19th July where
it is expected to have athletes from some
15 nations represented.
Previous cities that have
hosted the CIC World Inline Downhill championships
are: Zell am See 2000 (Austria), Lausanne
2001 (Swiss), Belluno 2002 (Italy), Rankwell
Ubersaxen 2003 (Austria), Borgholzhausen
2004 (Germany), Lyon 2005 (France), Teolo
2006 (Italy) and Albstadt 2007 (Germany).
