The CIC continues to work developing speed skating worldwide. Again this year the World Championship will be celebrated in Asia to continue to develop the sport in that Continent particularly after the success achieved last year in the Chinese city of Suzhou.

The South Korean city of Anyang, close to Seoul, will host the 39th Edition of the World Championship of track and road which will be overseen by the CIC and FIRS. It is anticipated that over 40 delegations from 5 continents will attend.
