2009 Kaohsiung World Games: Technical Meeting

Speed Roller Skating is participating in its eighth consecutive participation in the World Games, the multisport event for sports that do not form part of the Summer Olympic Games.

Kaohsiung, an agitated, modern and fascinating city, receives at more than 4000 sportsmen of 100 nations in 35 sports disciplines that for ten days they will change the lifestyle of the second more important city of Taiwan.

The Technical Meeting for Speed Roller Skating was held today close to the picturesque skating venue of Yangming where all matters relating to the start of the Speed Roller Skating program starting with the 300m time trial qualifying round at 9.00am.

The President of the CIC Roberto Marotta next to CIC members Susan Currell and Kim Sang-Hun and the CIC Secretary Cecilia Nadin were responsible for running of the Technical Meeting which was also attended by delegates from the 18 nations competing in Speed Roller Skating.

Following the draw conducted at this morning's Technical Committee, Korean athletes Hyo Sook Woo and Myung Kyu Lee will be the first athletes to participate in the 300m competition tomorrow.

This afternoon from 7.00pm the Opening Ceremony will be held at the Main Stadium of Kaohsiung built especially to host this very special occasion.
