The
CIC President Roberto Marotta visited Haining, the upcoming
host city of the 2009 World Roller Speed Skating Championships.
The official visit’s agenda included the inspection
of the facilities that will be used in the premium event
of our discipline, which will see the participation
of more than 45 nations and 500 athletes from the five
continents.
The banked track of the Haining International Roller
Skating Center is ready to host the track competitions
which will be held from 18th to 20th of September, while
the organizing committee is still working on the final
details of construction on the 400 M Road Circuit that
will host the road competition from 22nd to 24th of
September.
One other important point was the marathon circuit that
will be the final event of the competition which will
be held on September 26th and according to the recommendation
of the CIC President, Dr. Roberto Marotta, the original
proposed circuit will be reduced to a 5.7 circuit per
lap in Hainging downtown.
Dr. Marotta also met with local authorities and the
people in charge of the 2009 Haining Organizing Committee
to discuss about the final details of the most important
event of the Speed Skating season.
