The World Roller Speed Skating Championships will return to the Asian continent after the last competition held in 2006 in Anyang South Korea.

The 2009 CIC World Roller Speed Skating Championship will held for the second time in history in the People's Republic of China after a successfully event held in Suzhou in 2005.

This year Haining will be the host city for the most important competition where it is expected that more than 500 athletes from 60 nations will compete in this prestigious event that promises to show case a high level of organization after the experience gained during the Olympic Games in Beijing.

Haining is a small Chinese city with 600,000 inhabitantes located 125 from Shanghai and is the main financial and commercial centre of the region.

The track competition will be held in the spectacular Haining International Roller Sports Centre, a modern complex recently opening with a 200 meters certified track with high technology factors that will provide comfort for the athletes and visitors. The road races will be held in an urban circuit of 400 meters length.
